Midwoud House: Midwouderdorpsstraat 17, 1679GB Midwoud

The former town hall of the Midwoud municipality was built in an eclectic style in 1848/1878/1920. The building and the former school behind it are now being gradually renovated and conserved.

“Huis Midwoud” now serves partly as the residence of filmconcertpianist Yvo Verschoor and partly as a piano museum with a small concerthall and a collection of Blüthner grand pianos. Yvo Verschoor regularly organizes film concerts, accompanying silent films on the piano. The venue hosts many classical and jazz concerts and there’re often performances with a link to the history of the region, West-Friesland, the building and the instruments
