Maria Sofia Espiga – viola

is a Portuguese viola player. She did her music education in Lissabon and at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. She studied also at the Netherlands Strijkkwartet Academie.  

Sofia loves to play chamber music and since many years she has performed with several groups in the Netherlands and across Europe.

She performs not only classical style music but also world music. 

During her career she had the pleasure to play with many renowned orchestras. 

She desires to discover and share with her colleagues and publics both her passion for chamber music and her belief in the power of music to develop sensibilitie
