Machiko Takahashi – fluit Machiko Takahashi – fluit Machiko Takahashi won op jonge leeftijd de ‘First prize of Virtuosity’ van Genève. Ze vervolmaakte haar studie bij de wereldbekende fluitist André Jaunet in Zürich. Eenmaal in Nederland volgden al gauw verbintenissen met het Nederlands Kamer Orkest (1e solo fluitist), het Xenakis Ensemble (1e solo fluitist) en het Koninklijk Concertgebouw Kamer Orkest (1e solo fluitist). In 1985 vormde ze het ‘Amsterdam Kamer Ensemble’ samen met 5 solisten van het Concertgebouw Orkest. Als solist speelde ze over het hele continent met veel beroemde orkesten. In 2000 vormde ze een nieuwe groep met 12 solisten van het Concertgebouw Orkest. Na jaren les te hebben gegeven aan conservatorium van Arnhem is ze sinds 2005 professor aan de Universiteit van Kunsten in Okinawa Japan. Ze geeft masterclasses in Europa, Japan, Canada en Taiwan en maakte een aantal CD’s met bekende musici. Machiko Takahashi (Flute): “First Price of Virtuosity“ at the Conservatory of Geneva, Switzerland at a very young age. In the following years, she completed her studies with the internationally renowned pedagogue and flutist André Jaunet in Zurich. At the age of twenty, M. Takahashi started her career in the avant-garde music, as well as the medieval-baroque music field (also playing the recorder), two extremely contrasted periods of music. In 1973, the avant-garde music ensemble Collectif 2e2m in Paris invited her as solo flutist. As soloist, she participated in innumerable international music festivals, playing with many orchestras such as Orchestre de la Radio France, Royal Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, WDR Köln Symphony Orchestra etc. In 1985, she formed the Amsterdam Chamber Ensemble with five soloists from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. In 2000 she enlarged it to the string chamber orchestra Soloists of the Concertgebouw with a flute and 12 strings. After fourteen years of teaching at the Arnhem Conservatory (1989-2003) in the Netherlands, since 2005 she is professor at the Prefectural University of Arts in Okinawa, Japan. Geelvinck Salon: Op zondag 31 augustus 2014 geven Machiko Takahashi op fluit en Naomi Tamura op piano een recital: ‘Op het Snijvlak van Romantiek en Modernisme’. Na haar 10-jarige wereldtournee, treedt Machiko Takahashi in de Geelvinck Salon van 1 novermber 2015 op met pianiste Naomi Tamura: fluit/piano in het fin-de-siècle.
