Renske Wijma – natuurhoorn Renske Wijma (1985) discovered the natural horn while studying modern horn at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague and Groningen. Touched by the pure sound of the natural horn, she decided to specialize in the instrument. In 2011, Renske joined the ‘Formation supérieure’ at the Abbaye aux Dames / Centre Européen de Recherche et de Pratique Musicales in Saintes, France. In this programme, she worked with such luminaries as Philippe Herreweghe, Alessandro Moccia, David Stern, Jos van Immerseel, and Claude Maury. In 2012, Renske started her Masters degree at the Amsterdam Conservatory, studying natural and baroque horn with Teunis van der Zwart. Renske plays with historical orchestras and ensembles throughout Europe including the Bach Orchestra of the Netherlands, Concerto d’Amsterdam, La Sfera Armoniosa, (Holland), Capella Cracoviensis (Poland), Collegium Vocale Gent (Belgium), Die Kölner Akademie (Germany). Geelvinck Salon: On Sunday 7 September 2014, Renske Wijma performs with a quintet with four wind instruments and fortepiano, in a recital ‘Onderweg naar Mozart’.
