Dorota Motyczynska – piano Dorota Motyczyńska Pianist, born in 1990. She studied at the Academy of Music in Katowice in the class of Prof. Zbigniew Raubo , graduating in 2014 with a first class honours degree. She also worked in the harpsichord class of Prof. Marek Toporowski and in the historical piano class with Katarzyna Drogosz. As an exchange student she studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg in the class of Prof. Hubert Rutkowski. She cultivated her skills by participating in master courses led by Anna Malikova, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Beatrice Berthold, Lee Kum Sing, Andrzej Jasiński, Aleksej Orłowiecki, Wojciech Świtała, among others. She is the finalist of the Polish National Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, the special award winner of the International Chopin Competition in Narva, Estonia, the 3rd prize winner of the Silesian Piano Competition in Zabrze and the 3rd prize winner of the International Piano Competition FORUM PER TASTI in Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia. Moreover, she won the first prize at the Chopin Piano Tournament of Halina and Ludwik Stefański in Krakow. She has performed in various places, such as the Birthplace of Frédéric Chopin in Żelazowa Wola, the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, and the Residence of Polish Embassy in Hamburg. She has also participated in festivals such as The International Festival of Young Music Competition Laureates in Katowice, where she performed Johann Sebastian Bach’s Goldberg Variations. During the period 2007-2009 she was the scholar of the Polish Children’s Fund (Krajowy Fundusz na rzecz Dzieci), during 2009-2013 she received the Artistic Scholarship of the Mayor of Polkowice. In the academic year 2012/2013 she was awarded with the scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
