Marina Rodríguez-Brià – (forte)piano, musicologist Marina Rodríguez-Brià was born in Sant Vicenç de Castellet (Barcelona) and studied at the conservatories of Barcelona and Perpignan (France) and also at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Holder of a degree in Music and in French Philology, she has continued her studies with different international courses and is the recipient of many prizes in piano, chamber music, and poetry contests. She has performed at Berlin’s Staatsoper, the Hamburg Laeiszhalle, Gateshead’s Sage auditorium, Barcelona’s Auditori, or the Staatsoper Stuttgart. She has also performed at the international festivals of Grafenegg and Ludwigsburg, among others. She has recorded for Radio Nacional, Catalunya Ràdio, TV3, Canal 33, TV1, TV2, Südwest Rundfunk, RAI, and Radio France. She has published thirteen albums with works of Russian composers, Romantic dances for piano duet, Spanish music for piano solo, music of Albéniz, etc. Interested in Muzio Clementi, she has recorded two albums with works by this author (1999 and 2015), the latest one on an original fortepiano Clementi & Co. She has been the curator of the exhibition “Clementi, the Father of the Pianoforte” at the Palau de la Música Catalana (2018). She has given lectures and courses at the Music Museum of Barcelona, the University of Barcelona and other cultural institutions, and at the Historical Keyboard Society of North America.
