Masako Awaji – fortepiano & harpsichord Masako Awaji is a native of Japan. She studied the harpsichord with Chiyoko Arita at the Toho Gakuen College of Music and later with Yoshio Watanabe. She graduated from the Bachelor program of the Royal Conservatoire Den Haag in 2017, where she studied the harpsichord with Jacques Ogg and Kris Verhelst and basso continuo and historical improvisation with Patrick Ayrton. She is currently, a master student and studies the harpsichord with Siebe Henstra and Richard Egarr, and the fortepiano with Bart van Oort, Petra Somlai and Richard Egarr. In March 2017, she participated in the Gianni Gambi International Harpsichord Competition in Italy and she took third prize. In January 2019, she participated in the First International Basso continuo and Partimento Competition in Poland and she took the special concert prize. In May 2019, she won the 1st prize at La Stravaganza First International Harpsichord Competition in Romania. In March 2019, she was chosen as a member of the young Bach fellowship audition by the Netherlands Bach Society and she will join the concerts from 2020.
