Benefiet-zoom-concert door Frederic Voorn op vrijdag 19 maart om 20.45h.

Frederic Voorn schrijft: De concerten kunnen nog steeds niet van start gaan, maar graag wil ik jullie uitnodigen voor een benefietconcert dat ik op vrijdag 19 maart via zoom zal geven. Het goede doel is Shanti Bhavan in India.

Van Janssen vaccin tot Shanti Bhavan
Zoals jullie weten heb ik vorig jaar verschillende van dit soort benefietconcerten gegeven ten bate van allerlei goede doelen. Zo hebben we zelfs een bijdrage kunnen leveren aan de ontwikkeling van het Janssen-vaccin, dat net in de Verenigde Staten is goedgekeurd en waar Nederland er 11.3 miljoen van heeft besteld.

Deze keer zullen de donaties gaan naar een school in India. Shanti Bhavan geeft kinderen van de allerarmsten de kans op een school- en universitaire opleiding. De afgestudeerden zetten zich dan weer in voor hun eigen gemeenschap. Dit rimpeleffect werpt prachtige vruchten af en zo kan een kleine donatie een heel eind komen.

Mijn benefietconcert zal ik geven op vrijdagavond 19 maart om 20:45 uur. Het concert duurt ongeveer 40 minuten. Op het programma staan enkele Etudes van Frederic Chopin en mijn eigen Suite La foret perdue. Unfortunately concerts in person are still not an option, but I am happy to invite you to a benefit concert by zoom that I will give om Friday, March 19.

As you may know, last year I have given several of these benefit concerts for all kinds of worthy causes. In this way we were even able to contribute to the development of the Dutch Janssen-vaccin, that was recently approved in the United States and of which the Dutch governement has ordered 11.3 million doses.

This time all donations will go a school in India. Shanti Bhavan gives children of the poorest families the opportunity to a full school and university education. After their studies, the graduates give a lot back to their own communities. This ripple effect has proven to be very succesfull and shows how far an initial small donation can travel.

My benefit concert will be on Friday evening March 19 at 8:45 PM, local Amsterdam time. The concert will last for about 40 minutes and I will play some Etudes by Frederic Chopin and my own Suite La foret perdue.
