Ethical and Post-Pandemic Perspectives

Michael Clancy of the University of Hartford in Connecticut, USA, will raise the question “Is Slow Tourism Ethical Tourism?”
Paolo Corvo of the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo, Italy, will share with you his perspectives on post-pandemic tourism. 

Michael Clancy and Paolo Corvo are the editor and co-author of the Routledge book “Slow Tourism, Food and Cities: Pace and the Search for the ‘Good Life’“.
Heritage and communications expert Javier Lizarzaburu will join us as co-host and panellist.

Call for Papers | Heritage “Optimizing Slow Heritage Tourismscapes” We have learned that a special issue of the open-source journal “Heritage” is now open for submission.  Publisher MDPI waives the Article Processing Charge for all papers submitted between 1 June and 31 August 2021.  The deadline for manuscript submissions is 31 December. read more Interview | Published 30 April 2021 “Reflections on the Earth Markets and Sustainability” Slow Food interviewed Burçin Kalabay Hatipoğlu about her and Kıvanç İnelmen’s research into the Earth Markets, also the topic of our LAB meeting of 7 April. The Earth Markets are one of the most ambitious and complex Slow Food projects, requiring significant and continuous logistical organisation between the participating producers.  The goal is to create direct links between producers and the public, cutting out the middlemen and making good, clean and fair food more accessible. read more >
