Guy Maori – Harpsichord & Early Keyboards

Guy geeft pianoles bij Music For Life. Hij is een pianist, fortepianist en klavecinist. Hij behaalde zijn masterdiploma met als hoofdvak piano (Master of Music) aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam, gedoceerd door professor Naum Grubert. Tijdens zijn masteropleiding begon Guy’s passie en interesse voor historische toetsinstrumenten toe. Dat leidde ertoe nog een master te volgen van historische piano’s en klavecimbel bij Olga Pashchenko, Menno van Delft en Kris Verhelst aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Guy is actief als solist, maar ook als lid van verschillende ensembles. In 2020 won Guy samen met zanger Maayan Licht, bekend als Duo Zeffiretti, de eerste prijs in het Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Concours. Hij heeft op verschillende podia gestaan waaronder bij het Concertgebouw, het Grachtenfestival, Podium Witteman, NPO Radio 4 Festival, NTR Zomer Festival, Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, Festival Jong Talent in Schiermonnikoog en meer. Guy trad tevens ook op in Frankrijk en België en speelde op muziekfestivals van het Jerusalem Music Center in Israël.

Guy heeft jarenlang ervaring met lesgeven en werkt met alle leeftijden en niveaus, inclusief kinderen met leerproblemen.

Guy Maori is an Israeli harpsichordist, pianist and fortepianist and who has been residing in the Netherlands since 2017.
Guy performs frequently as a soloist as well as a member of different ensembles. He performed at the Early Music Festival in Utrecht, Het Concertgebouw, NPO Radio 4 Festival, Podium Witteman on Dutch national TV, Grachtenfestival, NTR’s Zomerfestival, Kamermuziek Festival in Hoorn, Festival Jong Talent in Schiermonnikoog, Huis te Linschoten, Hermitage Museum in Amsterdam and more.
In 2020 Guy won the first prize in the Grachtenfestival competition with his duo, Duo Zeffiretti. That win was followed by a tour all over the Netherlands. Guy has also recorded for the Israeli radio and played in music festivals of the Jerusalem Music Center.
Guy was born in Tel Aviv and started playing the piano at the age of 8 with Mrs. Natalia Blumenfeld at the Israel Conservatory of Music. In 2004, he performed with the Israeli Chamber Orchestra. In 2016 he graduated with honors from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv, after studying piano with Professor Asaf Zohar. In 2018 Guy obtained his Master of Music diploma from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, having studied under the guidance of Professor Naum Grubert.
During his Master’s in piano performance, Guy’s passion and interest in Early Music and historical keyboard instruments were increasing, which led him to pursue another Master’s in harpsichord and fortepiano with Menno van Delft, Kris Verhelst and Olga Pashchenko at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Guy was granted the Holland scholarship as well as scholarships by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music.
