Mariam Chincharauli

Pianist | Fortepianist | Historical Keyboard Specialist

Mariam Chincharauli is a Georgian pianist and fortepianist  based in the Netherlands. She is celebrated for her poetic touch, expressive phrasing, and passionate artistry. Equally at home on modern and historical instruments, she brings a deep sensitivity and stylistic authenticity to a broad repertoire—from Baroque to Romantic and contemporary music. Her performances are widely praised for their charm, intensity, and musical depth.

Born and raised in Georgia, Mariam began her musical journey at an early age. She completed her master’s degree in modern piano at the V. Sarajishvili State Conservatoire in Tbilisi, followed by postgraduate PhD studies with a specialization in chamber music. During this period, she distinguished herself through successful piano competition appearances and collaborations with the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Georgian Sinfonietta. She has performed in solo recitals and chamber music festivals and has participated in masterclasses with renowned pianist Vladimir Feltsman.

Before relocating to Amsterdam, Mariam held positions as a docent and correpetitor at the V. Sarajishvili State Conservatoire. She also gained extensive experience as a correpetitor for the Georgian State Choir. Her artistic focus gradually shifted toward historically informed performance, and she began specializing in period instruments, including harpsichord, clavichord, fortepiano, and early pianos.

In 2023, Mariam began a second master’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the Early Music Department, studying fortepiano with Olga Pashchenko, basso continuo with Kris Verhelst, and harpsichord with Menno van Delft. Since then, she has performed widely in the Netherlands and  Europe on both historic and modern pianos, presenting diverse and thoughtfully curated programs. Mariam Graduated with highest honors from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in June 2025.
