Pearls in Baroque – A Legacy Project at the Royal Concertgebouw

Help us fund professional recordings of our live concerts!

~ a word of artistic leader Noriko Amano ~

On February 28, our Baroque music series concert at the Concertgebouw was completely sold out and ended in a wave of deep emotion shared with the audience.

Yet on that very same day, Iran’s retaliation began, and the war escalated rapidly.
I found myself at a loss for words.

Baroque music was born around 350 years ago,
before the Industrial Revolution—
a form of culture and art from a time when people shared deeply human moments.

With handmade instruments crafted from natural materials,
people and nature coexisted, and music was something experienced together in the same space.

Science and technology have advanced tremendously, and we now live in the age of AI.

And yet, there is something that has not changed in 350 years.

That is our bodies & our hearts.
To listen, to be moved,
and to share a moment with others and with nature.

When we regain that sensitivity,
I believe it becomes impossible to take another person’s life.

It is through such small steps that we move closer to world peace.

Through this project,
we will create a professional video recording of our concerts
and make it available for anyone around the world to watch.

To make this possible,
we are currently raising funds with a goal of €30,000.

16 days remaining.

If this resonates with you,
we would be deeply grateful for your support
and for sharing this project with others.

Thank you very much,
Noriko Amano, harpsichord

The recordings will be made freely available on YouTube for those unable to attend the concert and preserved as a lasting archive for future generations.

All supporters will receive these professional recordings and images directly via email with our heartfelt thanks. Depending on the level of support, rewards may include signed CD’s, rehearsal access, concert tickets in Europe or Japan, and recognition as a Founding Legacy Patron.

The total project budget reflects resources for two, ideally three, such recordings to establish a lasting cultural legacy.

P.S. With a contribution of €1,000, supporters who are not performing musicians will receive two premium (“Pearls in Baroque”) season tickets for the Baroque Concertgebouw series—offering some of the finest seats available.
