Earl Christy – luit Earl Christy is an American baroque lutist who is internationally active as a performer, editor, composer and historian. He has studied with some of the most well respected teachers in the world (Toyohiko Satoh at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, Nigel North at the University of Indiana, and Paul Beier at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica in Milano). As a soloist, Earl has given numerous concerts throughout Europe and North America. As well as performance, Earl is an active composer for the baroque lute whose works have been published and performed. His most recent CD “Neue Lautenfruchte”, which features his own compositions for lute, has been enthusiastically received by numerous international journals. He has also been invited to give masterclasses on baroque performance and interpretation and has seen his articles and editions published in international journals. On Saturday 8 December 2012 16.45h., Earl will play with Christian Gutiérrez a recital with baroque dances from the German, Italian and Spanish baroque repertoire.
