Cecilia Bernardini – viool

Dutch-Italian Cecilia Bernardini is considered to be one of the most versatile violinists of her generation, specializing in historically informed practice on period instruments. She has performed in many of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall and Wigmore Hall in London, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Musikverein Vienna and Konzerthaus Berlin, as a soloist or as a chamber musician or artistic director.
Until recently Cecilia Bernardini has led the Scotland-based Dunedin Consort, French-based Ensemble Pygmalion; in 2019 she was appointed leader of the Belgian B’Rock Orchestra. 

As of 2023 she holds the position of associate artistic director of the Freiburger Barockorchester. 

She has led/directed modern and period instrument ensembles including The Netherlands Bachvereniging, Ensemble Zefiro, Arcangelo, Vox Luminis, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra,
Barokkanerne, The King’s Consort, Holland Baroque Society, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Salzburg.
She features regularly as a soloist and appears on many of their critically acclaimedrecordings. A keen chamber musician, she is a member of the Bernardini Quartet, Trio Soldat and forms a duo with fortepianist Keiko Shichijo. She has performed at numerous festivals over the world, including the Edinburgh Festival, Salzburger Festspiele, Bath Festival, Utrecht Early Music Festival, Festival de Sablé, Bruges Early Music Festival, Malta Early Music Festival, Bachwochen Ansbach and Thüringer Bachwochen.
