Kevin Walton – short biography

Kevin trained firstly as an actor at The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, then as a singer at The Royal Academy of Music and Opera School, London.

His work covers a wide range of genres, including classical and contemporary theatre and opera, film and TV, award-winning music theatre productions, medieval and renaissance ensembles, experimental theatre and performance art. He has specialised in new inter- disciplinary theatre and music works, with ensembles such as Studio Minailo, Rosa Ensemble, Opera Circus, Impropera, and The David Glass Ensemble.

As well as extensive international work, he’s performed at most of the UK’s leading theatres, including The National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare’s

Globe, Young Vic, Donmar Warehouse, Barbican, and The South Bank Centre. With English composer Jonathan Cooper, Kevin has recorded five albums of original songs.

He has also worked extensively in the Netherlands, appearing regularly in Operadagen Rotterdam as well as at La Monnaie / de Munt, Brussels; Dutch National Opera; Muziekgebouw, Bimhuis and Paradiso, Amsterdam.
