Mao Omori – fortepiano

Born in Osaka, Mao Omori started to play piano at the age of 5.

After she graduated at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, she studied with Prof. Willem Brons and completed master degree at Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2016.
She currently studies fortepiano with Prof. Bart van Oort at The Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, where she earns her Artist diploma as a scholarship student of Adriana Jacoba Fonds.

She has participated in master classes, such as Hamamastu, Kirishima, Kusatsu and Pablo Casals de Prado international academy and festivals.
She has won some prizes in national competitions in Japan, including International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia (gold medal).

Her debut recital was held at Osaka “Umeda Phoenix Hall” in Japan (2012).
She received a 2nd prize and Romain d’Ansembourg Encouragement Award in the International Geelvink fortepiano competition (2016).
Based in The Hague, Mao performs solo and ensemble recitals in the museums and salons, such as Cromhouthuis (Amsterdam), Geelvinck Festival 2018 (Zutphen).
