Stoel en Design: Stichting Zetel in Geelvinck

In een tuin als die van Geelvinck is het prettig toeven, vooral als je dat doet op een stoel(tje) van de Stichting Zetel. Tussen de OTD van afgelopen weekend en het Elle Festival van komend weekend, tonen drie ontwerpers van innovatief stoel-design hun nieuwste, kleurige creaties in de historische setting van de tuin van een grachtenhuis. Binnen, in de hal, gaat de frappante ‘Tapestry Chair’ een discussie aan met het evenhoge wandtapijt uit ca. 1600. Nog tot en met 30 juni bij ons te zien.

Recent chairs in a perfect historical environment

Many fans wil come to Amsterdam this weekend for the Open Garden Days 2014 and next weekend to visits the locations of the Elle Festival. Museum Geelvinck Hinlopen presents in collaboration with the Zetel Foundation in both weekends three recent chair designs. In the historical setting of the museum, a private city palace dated 1687 and its lush secluded garden, the public can experience the chairs in harmony with their environment.

The Tapestry chair will have his première for the pulic this weekend.

The presentation at Museum Geelvinck is part of the Chair Chain Amsterdam 2014 by the Zetel Foundation / Stichting Zetel that will take place from Friday June 27 till Sunday June 29 during the Elle Festival. The Zetel Foundation follows designers in their development in relation to the chair. The playing field knows no boundaries, and no distinctions between disciplines are made. An important selection criterion for participation in the project is originality. Following studio visits and movements among its networks Zetel determines the theme for its projects. All of this to underline Zetel’s objectives: to intitiate, develop and preserve original chair designs.
