Guy Maori – Biography

Guy Maori is a harpsichordist, pianist and fortepianist who has been residing in Amsterdam since 2017.

Guy performs frequently as a soloist as well as a member of different ensembles. He performed at the Early Music Festival in Utrecht, Het Concertgebouw, Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, NPO Radio 4 Festival, Podium Klassiek on Dutch national TV, Grachtenfestival, NTR’s Zomerfestival, Kamermuziek Festival in Hoorn, Festival Jong Talent in Schiermonnikoog, Huis te Linschoten, Hermitage Museum in Amsterdam, Bayreuth Baroque Festival and more.

In 2020 Guy won the first prize in the Grachtenfestival competition with his duo, Duo Zeffiretti. That win was followed by a concert tour in the Netherlands. Guy has also recorded for the Israeli radio and played in music festivals of the Jerusalem Music Center.

Guy was born in Tel Aviv and started playing the piano at the age of 8 with Mrs. Natalia Blumenfeld at the Israel Conservatory of Music. At the age of 12, he performed with the Israeli Chamber Orchestra. In 2016 he graduated with honors from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv, after studying piano with Professor Asaf Zohar. In 2018 Guy obtained his Master of Music diploma from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, having studied piano under the guidance of Professor Naum Grubert.

During his Master’s in piano performance, Guy’s passion and interest in Early Music and historical keyboard instruments were increasing. That led him to pursue another Master’s in harpsichord and fortepiano with Olga Pashchenko, Menno van Delft and Kris Verhelst and at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Guy was granted the Holland scholarship as well as scholarships by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music. Guy currently has a harpsichord on loan from the Nationaal Muziekintrumenten Fonds (NMF), on which he can practice at home.

Víctor García García – Biography

Victor Garcia Garcia is a Spanish cellist specialized in historical performance. He enjoys a varied and international musical career as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player. Alongside his activities as a performer, his interest towards research led him to obtaining the Doctor of Performing Arts degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the University of St Andrews, focusing on the performance practice of cellists that lived around Beethoven. He is a professor for historical cello at the HKU Utrecht Conservatorium.
In 2024, Victor was awarded the 1st Prize at the Bach International Competition in Leipzig, as well as the 1st Prize in the York Early Music Competition, as a member of the ensemble Ayres Extemporae, where he plays the violoncello piccolo. As part of Ayres Extemporae, he also won the 2nd Prize in the Biagio Marini Competition in Neuburg
and the First Prize and Audience Prize at the SMADE in Estella (Spain). As part of Duo Auxesis, he obtained the First Prize, “Music and Space” Prize and Audience Prize at the Händel Competition in Göttingen. He was awarded the Second Prize in 2013 at the Witold Lutoslawski Cello Competition in Warsaw.
He performs regularly with ensembles such as the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra, Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, the Utopia Orchestra and the Millenium Orchestra. He has been part of the Monteverdi Apprentices Programme at the Orchestre
Révolutionnaire et Romantique, the Collegium Vocale Gent Academy and the Academy of the Balthasar Neumann Ensembles. Victor was Artist in Residence in the Schloss Weissenbrunn Music Academy in the 2022 season. In 2021, he received the AAOBS Femás scholarship of the Baroque Orchestra of Seville and the Prize “Andalusian of the
Future” in the cultural category.
As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras such as the Baroque Orchestra of Seville, Ensemble Esperanza, Orchester am Treppenhaus Hannover, Malaga Philharmonie and the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla. He has taken part in festivals such as the Bachfest Leipzig, MA Brugge, Oude Muziek Festival Utrecht, Paessaggi
Musicali Toscani, Yellow Barn Festival, Musethica Festival, Prussia Cove International Musicians Seminar and East Neuk Retreat.
Fonds.
Víctor obtained his Bachelor Degree and a Master in Soloist Performance at the University of Arts in Berlin, in the class of Prof. Jens Peter Maintz. After that, he continued his education with David Watkin at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he obtained a master’s degree in Historically Informed Performance Practice.
Victor plays on a Johannes Theodorus Cuypers cello built ca. 1770 and a baroque bow by Pieter Affourtit, both in loan by the Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten
